The clinician can enter the selected code or codes. The observations and selected code or codes become part of the patient’s medical record. The clinician can further initiate a search of the patient’s history by electronically accessing multiple EHR repositories for the identified patient’s records associated with similar codes. The search results of relevant patient history can be instantly retrieved and displayed by the software to the clinician contemporaneous to the clinician-patient examination. The displayed history can facilitate an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
