David McEwing is an experienced IP attorney with over 40 years of patent and business transaction experience. He has been involved in creating patents for a variety of medical devices and techniques, as well as advanced alternative energy projects, business methods and software licensing.

For the last twenty years, David McEwing has developed a patent and trademark law practice focused on innovative startups engaged in medical devices, energy extraction and generation, driver behavior and vehicle operation information monitoring.

Prior to creation of his patent law practice, David McEwing was employed as Vice President and General Counsel for several operating companies of ABB Inc. as well as General Counsel for an advanced composite materials developer and manufacturer for the aerospace industry.

David McEwing possesses a BA in Economics, BA in Chemistry, cum laude, and a JD from Case Western Reserve University. For the last 10 years he has maintained an active website publishing topical articles regarding patent and trademark law developments and trends. Recent articles have focused on the patentability of medical procedures and information technology.
